In Lucretius’s De rerum natura, the clinamen is the random inclination, the imperceptible difference in the trajectories of the atoms which, intersecting, create the infinite shapes of the world. In the same way, the different patterns of the collection are formed by lines of tiny points that aggregate and interact with each other, outlining an overall design.
