What is the meaning of the icon today? This is the question I asked myself while working on the ‘Hidden portraits’ series. In a society that is saturated and exhausted by incessantly receiving a large stream of images and messages, I try to question its value and importance. The hidden portrait reveals a whole series of celebrity faces that were blurred and modified by a series of malleable protrusions, making it difficult for us to see their features. In this series I try to create a debate that revolves around the concepts of the ideal of beauty, contemporaneity and representation.
